Cin7 Becomes a Xero Add-on Partner

Cin7 is now a Xero Add-on Partner. Xero is an industry leader, and a true kiwi success story. As one of the fastest growing technology companies in the world, it has been called “The Beautiful Accounting Software.” …And it’s easy to see why, Xero has produced a well-rounded horizontal platform; their approach is quickly changing the way people view and use accounting software and supporting business systems. Anyone who uses Xero invariably ends up speaking very highly of it. Xero’s reputation among its consumers, its commitment to product development, and its elegant user interface have attracted the backing of some big hitters, such as Sam Knowles, Sam Morgan, and Peter Thiel, earning CEO and co-founder Rod Drury his title as one of New Zealand’s most successful Entrepreneurs. Xero has also recently won accolades such as the innaugural K2 Quality award for SaaS, Accounting Today’s Top New Product award for 2012, and was ranked 4th in the 2011 Deloitte 50 fastest growing companies.

Cin7 and Xero integrate to provide a well-rounded business system for product focused businesses. As complementary systems, Cin7 and Xero’s horizontal approach to system development provides the end user a complete vertical solution. Cin7 focuses on Operations and Gross Profits. Xero focus on Financials and Net Profits. Xero may not need to know what a customer has bought just how much. Accurate stock management and work-flow leads to accurate financial records and reports.

Integration between Cin7 and Xero is easy. Put simply, this means that as long as you are online, the two systems are in real-time contact, and that any actions taken in one system, also takes place automatically in the other. Our aim was to make the integration seamless, and frictionless. The simplest integration method is to mirror each contact and transaction from Cin7 to Xero. However Cin7’s capabilities can extend beyond simple updates.

Operationally, products can be delivered to multiple locations, but billed centrally. This means that where a user has several invoices addressed to the same billing company, Cin7 can combine them all in Xero, while keeping the information of each store or branch’s buying history separate. In many retail situations sales are made through numerous methods such as cash, credit card, direct credit, and on-account. In these situations, Cin7 can batch cash transactions by payment method. For instance, it can sort the cash received from the Credit Card payments received, and they will both precisely match the amounts shown on the user’s bank statements. This makes reconciliation a breeze, and reduces the clutter of one-off customer accounts in Xero.

Cin7 is very flexible, and can deliver on most integration requirements. We are lucky that Xero provides extensive flexibility to extract information from Xero. One very popular feature is the ability to update Cin7’s sales record with the payment status, meaning staff using Cin7 can see how much an Account Customer is owing without needing access to Xero!
